The Whispers of the Mind

The door to uncertainty, The perplexities of today, The unknowns of tomorrow— We step through the door that stands before us. The darkness of today, The complexities of daylight, The tranquillity of midnight— We endeavour to catch as much catch can. The promises of tomorrow, The pendulum of the mind, The joy of belief, The mysteries that lie deep within. The turbulence of the mind, The struggles of the gifted, The journey to redemption— We share our stories.

Way back home

Life’s a long day’s journey into night.

It’s been a long road and I am tired,
I tried to go back where it all began
but my soul got lost along the way,
         I knew I was heading home…
         How did I go astray?

I live in a world of death,
All the ones I’ve loved are now gone
like the birds freed from a cage,
but I’ll fight to keep their memories alive...
Man is permeable like a sieve

Life choices

A new day brings with it,
a new array of choices,
if only the decisions were as easy
as the end of the day rejoices.

Those self-aware,
are mindful with theirs,
few feel overwhelmed and unsure,
worried how'd it end.

Well, that's life!
full of tough decisions,
leaving fellow humankind,
at the fate of confidence!

FROM DIM TO BRIGHT

FROM DIM TO BRIGHT

Ideas from somewhere dark and mysterious
That may have been lurking there for years
Realisation that it is now the time and place
To launch like a rocket into unknown space
Yet silently, with no loud threshing of gears
Perhaps with a smile on a mission so serious

Images are held in almost delightful tension
The creative brain assumes the role of bard
Whether it will be in poetic or artistic voice
We shall never know who makes that choice
Thoughts as softened strands that were hard
Pulling thread from a hidden new dimension

Impending Death

How will the aquatic animals survive,
If there is no air for them to breathe or dive?

How would they eat their own mates,
If they have to save the courage for their fates?

Who would go to help them, oh who?
If this issue is known just to me and you?

what is nostalgia?

It is a smell— a sweet lavender from running through fields or an overwhelming vanilla from tailing behind your mother or a fragrant burnt from blowing out candles.
It is a taste— the saltiness lingering in the ocean air or bitterness from a disastrous Thanksgiving or soggy from your first kiss with a girl or spicy transporting you right back home.
