Midnight

Seizuring so as if escaping from fright
You awoke suddenly around midnight
Then rolled over, meeting my body halfway
By habit, drew nearer and kissed me straight away.
Your cheek, always soft, nestled against mine.
Your wandering hand came to rest upon my thigh.
In my ear, your breath came like wind rushing.
By the touch of your tepid skin, I sensed flushing.
My eyes perused you in the moonlight
Convincing me for a moment that all was right.
You fell again to sleep peacefully it seemed

You want to requite my love;

You want to requite my love;
  You already have with a ring
And many years of life
  So this I command you to bring:

A bouquet of chocolate flowers –
  Each with a nice, dark button
Comparable to your eyes –
  And a fragrance as divine.

Put it together with care –
  Tape it inconspicuously –
Present it when I’m caught unawares
  And you have hours to give me.

Such a bouquet – bright and simple –
  As native as the mourning dove –
Would be a challenge worthwhile
  Your time and your love.

The Weight of Feelings

Some feelings float like feathered air, Too light to hold, but always there. They drift through silence, soft and wide, And build their echoes deep inside. Some burn like stars behind the skin, They glow so bright, but ache within. A smile may hide the sparks they spill, But in the quiet, they are still. Some never find the words to speak, So they sit gently on your cheek— A tear, a sigh, a sudden pause, A storm without a known cause. But every feeling—sharp or sweet— Is proof the soul has not been beat. For hearts that feel in quiet ways Are brave in more than they can say.

Alexa echo rocks ages of generations!

The species and genus
known as Homo sapiens
predominated across the webbed wide world
for tens of thousands of years
until many brain children teamed together,
(though nevertheless select individuals
such as Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble
contributed, the initial vision
and much of the core technology
from Amazon's internal development efforts)
birthing Alexa Echo.

Norman the Worm Whisperer

An earthworm squirms, its fate unsure,
on pavement hot as soup du jure.
Norm comes upon it. “Little Noodle,”
he says, “you’ll bake like apple strudel.”

Norm sizes up the situation.
The worm’s at risk of dehydration.
“I could have squished it with my sandal,”
says Zip. “Far worse than being a vandal.”

“Yes,” says Norm, “you’d be a felon.
Good thing you didn’t! There’s no tellin’
what the annelid collective
would do to you as a corrective.”

He pulls his license out and slips
it under Noodle. Girlfriend Zip’s

Stupid Woman

Call me stupid until it comes to writing– When it comes to poetry. When it comes to expression through a pen or pencil, Or even a keyboard or typewriter. There indeed are times when I would call myself stupid; Stupidly in love with the romantic sides of this world. Stupidly in love with the temporary fantasies we’re granted with, Assuming that’s the life we get to live forever, So we write about it to express our gratitude towards those experiences, Until it’s ripped apart and we’re left in the harsh realities we once refused to face.

Grass is a taut crew;

Grass is a taut crew;
  They stand at attention
As soldiers do
  With orders from the sun –

Never having thoughts
  That their purpose is trite
Or any nagging doubts
  Or need of strife.

How admirable their rank –
  How exemplary their queue –
I whispered to one blade –
  Living as they do.
