you encircle my dreams
in childlike wisps of breezes.
capturing every thought
like deep wintry freezes.

the memory of you
is still all too near.
your old blanket i have
such fragrance held dear.

and when eyes are set
upon a new day,
I remember in heaven
is now where you play.

I think about Autumn
haggard face at night
the light that ushers in another time
and softens all of my might.

I wonder what life beyond brings
adventure in ocherous hues
resting soul shall embrace this time
sky's color shift from blues.

The Lord's present glory is nigh
I pause for one last thought
to cross the Jordan to my rest
a pilgrim's end thus sought.

Alas the trials of a day
preclude this hasty feat
as precious joy arises now
and delays the Mercy seat.
