Somewhere, west of fear and north of love

 A finger painted sky
Of golds and greens
Clouds, swelling waves
Crashing at the wavebreakers

Albatross, land must be near
Yet no home is in sight
Still, the ceaseless flight continues
Through the frozen depths

Untouched by light
Save for the fireflies
Resting among the leaves
Of crumbled paper

Ink struggling
To be put into words
For fear of what is left
Unsaid, undone

The knot in my throat
Or around;
The ribbon of Pandora's gift
Her braided hair

Golden, once, now silver
Stars guide her way
Under the cold gaze
Of a crescent moon

Scarred and withered,
Bloodied anew each dawn
Of a new age, waiting,
In turn, for its demise

In the mercy of time
Nothing remains unscathed
Except a cloudy,
Fingerpainted sky
