They Wept in Tears of Blue

I watched as the world wept in tears of blue,
The dripping faucet was not fixed, but yet
I knew because of it the flowers grew.

Perhaps there was no reason there, but through

The house I ran, inquiring as to why

I saw the world still weep in tears of blue.

The people grieved a thing I could not view,

The rain dropped down from them. Why did they fret?

I knew because of it the flowers grew.

I think they spied me in my black tutu,

As I tiptoed so softly. They regret

That I saw the world weep in tears of blue.

Since they didn't tell, I left. I grabbed a shoe.

I liked the rain. So why were they upset?

I knew because of it the flowers grew.

I asked about the clouds. They seemed quite new.

But it was only pipes. I won’t forget

I watched as the world wept in tears of blue,

I knew because of it the flowers grew.
