When first as Consul Pompey sate,
But two adulterers were known:
And, when again the reins of state
He held, 'twas two, and two alone.

Whereas, so alter'd is the case,
For one we now a thousand find——
O, how prolific the embrace
Of men to letchery inclin'd!
