The Fairy Shoemaker

Tiny shoes so trim and neat,
Fairy shoes for dancing feet;
See the elfin cobbler's shelves
Filled with shoes for tiny elves.

And sitting there he hammers,
And hammering he sings. . . .

" This small shoe of silver,
This small shoe of gold,
This small shoe of diamonds bright —
Will none of them grow old.

" This small shoe will hurry,
This small shoe will skip,
This small shoe will dance all night,
Tipperty, tip, tip, tip.

" This small shoe will twinkle,
This small shoe will shine,
This small shoe will bring me home,
For I shall make it mine. "

And sitting there he hammers,
And hammering he dreams. . . .

Tiny shoes so trim and neat,
Fairy shoes for dancing feet,
See the elfin cobbler smile
As he sits and rests awhile.
