Mine Host -

(From the Chinese)

Linger not in my library,
If you seek in it wisdom, not pleasure.
Before you turn to my bookshelves, listen.
Green ivy fingers tap the window,
Calling the eyes to the slope of orchard.
My son is fishing in the pond,
And beyond,
The grass is blanched as for a wedding,
Under the orchard trees, with idle blossom.
My library door adjoins the orchard —
An you wisely seek for pleasure,
It will let you pass.
