spectacles

ah! stupidity-I am frozen with fear-
please understand. her beautiful, flowing poem-
a bell rings outside, as if to say,
'Yes, You Should Have Known.'

now she thinks i'm a fool, doesn't she?
during the cadence she magically plays,
all i want is her song, her tune, her rythm,
all i want is her sparkling gaze.

peering from behind those deep, brown spectacles,
sit a pair of green, green eyes,
if only i could tell her what i want to say,
instead of hiding behind, 'They're Nice.'

i'd tell her instead
every time i see her
she catches me by surprise
