My brother and I

Two December birthdays
only three days apart
we used to share a Madeira cake
from the breadman’s cart!

Birthdays weren’t such a big thing then
No cards or Facebook greets....
with Christmas ‘round the corner
time enough for treats.

We both have passed three score and ten
How the years just flew!
Let’s hope we’re all blessed with many more
Happy Christmases and birthdays too!
