A Brighter Day

A brighter day is coming,
All shadows flee away,
And we 'll need no light of candle or of sun;
For the King of glory giveth
His own eternal light,
To all who have the crown of vict'ry won.
There is no vale of sorrow,
No tears will ever flow,
Neither hunger, thirst, or longing on that shore;
Countless thousand voices singing
Hosanna to the Lamb,
Shout forth his love and praise for evermore.
Come, ye who sadly languish,
In darkness, sin, and woe,
Come and seek the glorious dawning of that day;
There is peace and pardon promised,
And rest in mansions fair,
Where Jesus wipes each bitter tear away.

Behold, the day is breaking!
The gates are open wide!
Oh, enter where no night shall ever come!
In the radiance of the morning
There shall be no more shadow,
For Jesus reigns forever in that home.
