111. To Regulus -

Your work is worthy of a wit
That earned a scholar's reputation,
The pious care you spend on it
Is equal to your inspiration,
And any man who marvels why
Incense and books to you are proffered,
Knows not a gift should typify
His qualities to whom 'tis offered.
