A bluebird in an apple-tree
A glad adventure is to me;
While, sudden glimpsed, the swallow's dart
Like laughter flicks across my heart;
Grey-shadowed gulls with wide blown wings
Wake in me vagrant hankerings;
A silver thrush at dusk of day
Calls from dim woods and then I pray.
