Classic Poem

A few more days of sorrow,
A few more suff'rings here,
And then the glad tomorrow,
When Jesus shall appear.
A few more trials for me,
A few more darken'd skies,
And then shall rise before me
The hills of Paradise.
A few more days of weeping,
Of sowing, and of tears,
And then the joyful reaping
Throughout eternal years.
A few more steps, O mortal,
Before the Jordan's pass'd
But soon the open portals,
And then safe home at last.

A few days only
Of faithful service here,
