On the Heavenly Way

Marching on the heav'nly way,
Home to glory and to God,
Moving on the old, old route
Where the saints of old have trod.
Cares may come, and tribulation,
And the cross we all must bear,
But we seek the Jasper ramparts,
Of the city bright and fair.
Sins and doubts and sorrows many,
Weary watches in the night,
But beyond the gloomy shadows,
Shines the everlasting light
Marching on the heav'nly way,
Ends the journey soon or late,
And we all with shouts and singing,
Enter in the pearly gate.

Marching on, marching onward
With the host that went before,
Marching on, marching onward,
Marching to the shining shore.
We are marching, marching onward,
Marching onward, ever onward,
