Not chance but soil, sun and gardener
forged this magic.
Tomatoes, basil, salt and good oil brought
the sweetness of summer
to our table.
Indulgent, magical,
giving life to old people.
Dip of crusty bread,
sip of the new wine,
a ship Odysseus never dreamed
transports us.
