If someone can assist me living
Oh, why can’t one assist me dying?
I was alive; I lived a beautiful life,
Sun shined brightly, flowers bloomed.
I had kith and kin, peers and colleagues.
I spent my days my way
I married my girl
I built my house
I raised my family
I ate and drank what and when I pleased…
Some, I did on my own
For some, I got assistance.
Now, the days are dark
and nights, harsh,
And life seems a boondoggle task.
I lived my life my way
Why can’t I die my death my way?
I had a decent life
Let me die a decent death?
