At this age of adolescence
Faced are many challenges
Some strive for colleges esteemed
To gain knowledge they have dreamed
Alas, 'tis a journey tough and vast
Of that we must acknowledge fast
In my younger days so free
Learning flowed with pleasant ease
No cares to bring me to my knees
Now school feels more confining to me
As adulthood draws near, quite clear
Looming responsibilities, I do fear
For these I must meet my goals
But my whims I can't control
Separated from old friends
In a new environment I blend
Contentment I sometimes pretend
Rarely living in the present
Dwelling often on the past
How long this phrase will last
Is something for me to draft
