Whatever did I do wrong
To deserve the pain I feel
I've tried my best to be strong
I think I just need some time to heal

I know what you want me to be 
I know what you want me to do
I would, but unless you hear my plea
Your desires, I can't pursue

All I want is to be happy
To feel like I belong here with you
But acceptance is the one key
I believe first I'm due 

You can look me in my faded eyes,
Say you're sorry, and you understand 
But no, you simply won't compromise 
Not til you feel what I feel, firsthand 

But that will never happen to you
You're living a dream, how could it?
You and him, you are the perfect two
I believe that claim's counterfeit

All I want is to be happy
To feel like I belong here with you

Do you see my tear stained, scarlet face?
Do you see what this has done to me?
This melancholy, you can't erase
This hell is mine, my reality 

I don't expect you to understand,
But I'm asking you to try to
