MEMORIES

I close my eyes and try again to see
Those memories that fade and die
But forgotten, they shall never be

All the challenges surrounding me
Survive the rigours as they pass by
I close my eyes and try again to see

Bonds of friendship love and amity
They have had their time, as have I
But forgotten, they shall never be

Thoughts are waves in a rolling sea
Inspired, yet no-one ever knows why
I close my eyes and try again to see

Memories are ethereal, not an entity
As into the universal void they fly
But forgotten, they shall never be

So hold on to every fading memory
They can be recalled, only if you try
