Once upon a time, they said, there lived a beautiful girl,
And all around her flowers bloomed and powerful magic swirled.
I long for those fairy tales, but not for the happy end,
But rather for the journeys, the adventures, the holes that it would mend.
I wish to fight the dragons, and sail the open seas,
To run into the forest and feel it’s wistful breeze.
I long to escape the tower, and make my way to the kingdom of lights,
Or fly on a magic carpet, my heart touching the night
I hope to make friends with the beast and read all of his books,
And to talk to all the animals, who are stronger than they look.
I want to run into the cobblestone streets, into another world
And find out where fate has my strings, how mystically they are swirled.
I wait for the days, where I’ll find my wings and fly,
Towards my adventure, in the underworld or in the heavens in the sky.
I need to find my home, magic erupting from my wand,
And to feel my faction in my blood, my soul seeking the beyond.
I’m not asking for a crown, but rather a seeking a marvelous story
Something that makes my heart jump, not for all the glory.
Page by page, I run into the words, hoping I end up somewhere far away.
Then maybe, I’ll find a place where my heart tells me to stay.
So please give me that adventure, that tall mountain to climb,
She lived happily ever after, they said, until the end of time.
