No diamonds are so bright,
So alluring to the sight,
As the eyes of the nymph I admire.
I adore her cherry cheeks,
And she charms me when she speaks,
And her touch sets me all on fire.

I can no longer bear,
But I must my love declare;
I'm resolved her intentions to know.
But if she proves too stout,
And makes too much rout,
To the devil she may go.
