Through Thunder and rain

Here are the true heros

ready to save the day.

Though their hands may be rough

Though their expression may look tired and dead,

There hearts are pure,

spun from sparkling spider’s web.

Though their bodies may be charred,

from raging flames. Though there may be fresh blood

cut from glass shards.

These are the people who put their lives at risk

To save ours lives from a horrible fate.

Their actions are brisk

they waste no time.

to save many lives,

including yours and mine.

These are the true heros of our nation,

Isn’t it time we showed a little appreciation?
