After a long separation and life in different worlds
Our thoughts and questions hurled
Through our minds, where once in ignorance we basked –
Then I first and bravely asked -

Who could live in a place without light?
Is it not better to have sight?
To see everything around you –
And nothing is left to the imagination.

My friend then asked –
How could you live in a place with eternal light?
Is it not better to ignore the shadows in sight?
That are cast perpetually before you.

I then answered -
As time would have it, I need to say -
You and I are as night and day.
You come from a place of eternal darkness,
And I, from a place of eternal madness.
