382nd Weekly Poetry Contest winner: Retired Outfit

by bloom

What to do with these gray suits
And brown ones and blue,
And blazers with brass buttons
Like a navy officer’s uniform of the day,
And these light skinned suits of summer
Made of silk and linen.
What to do with these power ties
I’ve collected over thirty years
Decorated with stripes and medallions.
They will be retired from active service
And wait in the closet for one more chance
To be called up to active duty.
