Life’s greatest mystery is
Death –
    It’s not God,
      It’s not Soul,
        It’s not the heavens
           nor the laws of Nature.

Death is omnipresent and omnipotent,
At once personal and universal,
It’s an absolute and irrevocable experience.

The inevitable end to life,
The only sanctuary
from the rigors of life;
The final destination to life’s journey,
No matter which way you traverse
you are bound to end up dead.

Life is like riding a horse
Without you holding the reins
or your feet in the stirrups,
Like driving a car
Without your hands on the wheels
or your foot on the brakes;
It’s like taking a roller coaster ride over
a route of steep inclines and sharp turns
with the prospects of all the thrills
and the heart-stopping descent.

Death is life’s greatest miracle
Your only road to salvation,
A portal to the soul’s
ultimate metamorphosis—
the only way getting back home.

Give me death any time,
for life exacts harsh wages,
Life, for once, will abandon you;
But death,
Ha, death! will always stand by you.
