The Director

Did you forget about me?
Because the phone never rings,
No words, no care, no space for me,
Just because I cut my strings.

Did you forget about me?
Love? Oh, that’s just a line,
Because if you’re poor, or different.
Then you’re ignored and left behind.

Did you forget about me
‘Cause in your eyes, I’m a mess?
A misfit in your perfect show,
Yes, I’m a failure, I confess.

Did you forget about me?
When you cut me, no second chance.
Is it because I dared to criticise,
And wouldn’t take part in your dance?

The Ring Thing (is entirely Bling)

This is a poem about the role of championship rings in NBA GOAT discussions.

The Ring Thing (is entirely Bling)
by Michael R. Burch

The ring
thing
is entirely bling.

Michael Jordan was zero-for-six
against the Larry Bird Celtics;
moreover, he was twice sent home
by Isiah’s Pistons;
his ring case only began to gleam
when he had Horace, Scottie and B.J. on his team.

LONG LIVE THE QUEEN

by profvn
long live the queen
her robe so long indeed
it took a long time to make

your highness my queen
how high her seat only
the high minded can fit

her majesty my queen
my cap fell off my head in prostration
oh i didn't mean to be funny

please my queen
my knees wear out my trousers
i only beg for my right

how beautiful the queen is
could it be mockery?
even if, you cant tell her to her face
it's worse than treachery

my queen wears a diamond
she may know the price but not the value
